Random Password Generator Publisher's Description
Most administrators configure all of their workstations with the same built-in administrator account name and password. This practice creates a huge vulnerability where a malicious individual could discover the common password, log on to one system locally with the account, and have administrative access to every other system with the same common administrator name and password - perhaps even all computers in the organization. No Windows environment is secure without complex, unique local administrator passwords that are updated on a regular basis.
Manually generating random passwords and changing all local administrator accounts on a scheduled basis is prohibitively expensive and time consuming for many IT departments. Random Password Generator, in coordination with User Manager Pro, simplifies this process, giving an administrator the ability to schedule account updates on every system and set the built-in administrator accounts’ passwords in compliance with their organization’s security policy. The generated passwords use letters, numbers and punctuation. Passwords can have up to 14 characters for Windows NT and up to 127 characters for Windows 2000 and higher. This complexity, combined with scheduled password changes on a frequent basis, makes brute force cracking of the accounts infeasible.
Secure Password Storage
Random Password Generator stores all passwords in a password-protected database. An administrator can easily retrieve them if he/she needs to use the built-in administrator account to gain access to a system that would otherwise be inaccessible.
